About

Startup Laurier

What we do

Startups and Waterloo are two words that fit perfectly together. Startup Laurier brings that entrepreneurial culture to campus. Our events, programs, and initiatives are meant to empower Laurier students to explore and pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions. Whether it be starting your own business, working for a startup, growing a skill, or wanting to learn more about Kitchener-Waterloo’s entrepreneurship community, we provide students with the resources and connections to make it happen.

History

Startup Laurier was created in 2011 as the Laurier Innovation and Technology Club. It is designed to develop young adults into entrepreneurial-minded leaders. We hold many flagship events such as Entrepreneurs Exchange and the Startup Consulting Case Competition that unites our passion with others in the Kitchener/Waterloo Region. These days, we can be found partnering with the Entrepreneurship Society at the University of Waterloo for our infamous Startup Chats or hosting Michael Wekerle (from Dragon’s Den) at Entrepreneurs Exchange.
